Boston Travel Guide- glorious memories of the American Revolution

Boston being a city with diverse cultures celebrates many festivals and events throughout the year. These festivals add to the charm of the city. The main festivals are, St. Patrick's Day, Boston Marathon/Patriot's Day, Independence Day, St. Anthony Feast day, New Year's Eve celebration and a Critical Mass on every Friday.

The most important of all the festivals is Independence Day which is on Fourth of July. Several events occur throughout this day. After the flag raising ceremony in the morning, there is a parade to Old State House. The day concludes with the Boston Pops show on Esplanade along the Charles River and is followed with fireworks. This event is televised nationally and holds the world record of the most crowded place ever.

The second most important event to 4th July is the June weekend of Boston Pride. On this day, Boston's LBGT community parades from Copley Square till Boston common. In late August St. Anthony's feast day is celebrated and is full of games, food vendors, music and a parade on Hanover Street.

Boston's legendry New Year's Eve celebration is one of the oldest public celebrations in America. It takes place throughout the city and is basically music, dance and art festivals which run till midnight, ending with fireworks on the water front.

In the month of October, The Head of the Charles Regatta , world's largest two-day rowing event is held along the river Charles in which more than 8000 rowers participate, attracting over 300,000 spectators from all over the world.
